A Year of Moving Well

Do you ever get that feeling that “things” are a bit out of control? Maybe it is personal, maybe it is global, or both? You may well have heard that “mindfulness” can be helpful here. In this program you will work with mindfulness in movement as well as with contemplations on some of life’s questions suggested by Feldenkrais® inspired movement lessons.

I will be posting new content every month for subscribers, to view online and to download. Subscribers will be invited to a private Facebook group to share their experiences.

Have you considered that perhaps the best thing you can do, for yourself, and for the good you can do in the world, is to calm yourself and find a quiet embodied center from which to act?

If this sounds to you like a description of a meditation program, I am not surprised. That being said, what I offer here is something else.

Back when I was in my Feldenkrais® training one of the trainers called Awareness through Movement® the ultimate mindfulness tool. Of course that was his opinion and at the time I thought it perhaps a bit odd. I no longer do. It is definitely one of many good ones.

In this program you will receive a monthly Awareness through Movement inspired movement lesson that is about 10 minutes long. It will be both written out and recorded. Each lesson is designed as a “physical metaphor” for one of life’s questions or challenges. Here are a few of the planned topics…

  • Exploring what touches you.
  • Exploring boundaries.
  • Exploring what you stand for.
  • Exploring your own needs.

From this “embodied” place you will be offered question(s) for contemplation regarding the month’s theme. In January, you will be invited to a private Facebook group so that participants can interact with each other.

I know many of us don’t have a lot of time. I consciously organized this program so you can do the lesson once and spend a few moments with the contemplation and you will benefit. If you can do the lesson a few times over the month and spend more time with the questions, perhaps journaling, you will likely benefit more.

A probable and pleasant “side effect” of the movement lessons will be a sense of greater physical ease and in some cases pain relief.

Cost is $144 for 12 months of content.
